Theme: Filtered
Theme Description: Before you share that picture of you and your friends you have to find the perfect filter. The filter changes the feel of the picture. It changes how people will see you and whoever else is in the photo. We also see life through filters. When we look at our friends (and enemies), our parents, our math teacher, and even ourselves we see it all through a filter. Join us as we discover together that God has given us a filter in order that we can best see others and ourselves.

Theme Verse: Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Starting Point Membership Class

Whether you have recently become a member of FBC, are interested in joining, or would just like to know more about who we are as a church, then Starting Point is for you. Pastor Chip will share a few key things about the church; who God is and what it means to follow Him; what we believe as a church; and what we expect from you as a church member as we Gather, Grow, Give, Go. At the conclusion, there will be an opportunity to become a member of the church. Our next quarterly Starting Point class is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 at 5:30 pm in Children's Building Room 215. A meal will be provided at the beginning.

D/Group Connect

D/Group Connect

What is a D-Group? A D-Group is a closed group, rather than an open group. Community Groups and Bible studies are usually open groups (or they should be); that is, they are open to anyone and everyone who would like to attend. A D-Group is, by design, closed to a handful of people. A person joins the group by invitation only. The recommend size is 3-5 people (including the leader).

Second, the purpose of a D-Group is completely different. While Community Groups and Bible studies exist for the purposes of growth and fellowship, they have an underlying additional purpose: evangelism. Community Groups are designed to reach lost people by getting them involved in the group. A D-Group, in contrast, consists of believers who desire a deeper walk with Christ. It is not evangelistic in its form or function, but in its fruit: it makes disciples, who then make disciples.

Lastly, the setting of the D-Group is completely different. It is the shift from a lecture atmosphere with one teacher facilitating a discussion of a room full of students to an intimate, accountable relationship with a handful of like-minded people. This blueprint, sketched by Jesus Christ through His personal example, is how discipleship is accomplished in the lives of believers, and, ultimately, within the local church. When this plan is followed, those involved will participate in three dynamics that result in a growth in their personal lives, as well as in the Kingdom: community, accountability, and multiplication.

Theme: True North

Each of us have a race to run. Many times the difficulty is figuring out which direction we are to run. You’ll discover your true north as we dive into the life of Joseph. His life is a serious of peaks and valleys, but through it all he discovers that God is with him, and even the obstacles he faces are shaping him into the man that God designed for him to be.

Theme Verse: Genesis 39:21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
