Children’s  Ministry

Raising Disciples. Reaching the Next Generation.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

Who We Are

At First Baptist Starkville, our Children’s Ministry partners with families to raise children who love God, know His Word, and live sent into their communities. We believe kids learn best in a Gospel-centered environment where faith comes alive through engaging lessons, worship, service opportunities, and caring relationships. From Sunday mornings to special events, we create spaces where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in Christ—rooted in faith and ready to share His love.

Weekly Schedule

  • Sundays | Children’s Worship at 11:00 AM | Children’s Building, 2nd Floor
  • Sundays | Community Groups at 9:45 AM | Children’s Building, 2nd Floor
  • Wednesdays | Stark Kids Mid-Week at 6:00 PM | Children’s Building, 2nd Floor

What to Expect

In Children’s Worship and Community Groups (1st–6th grade), kids experience a place they can call their own. Through engaging lessons, meaningful worship, and activities that connect the Bible to everyday life, we present the Gospel in ways they can understand and apply. Our goal is to help each child grow in their love for God, build lasting friendships, and discover that they can live out their faith right where they are.

Upcoming Events

Our Children’s Ministry calendar is full of engaging opportunities—from Bible camps and service projects to family events and theme nights.

Other Information

Check-In Process (1st–6th Grade)

To ensure your child’s safety, we use a computerized check-in system for children from birth through 6th grade. Here’s what to expect:

Check-In and Labels:

  • Upon check-in, parents will receive two labels:
    • One with your child’s name and class assignment, to be placed on their back.
    • One SECURITY CODE TAG, which must be shown at pick-up.

Pick-Up and Security:

  • At dismissal, the SECURITY CODE TAG is crosschecked before your child is released.
  • If someone else is picking up your child, simply take a photo of the tag and send it to them for verification. We will follow the same crosscheck process.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up:

  • Adults must bring children to class and pick them up promptly at dismissal.
  • Classrooms open 15 minutes before worship or events, and volunteers remain for a short time afterward.

Volunteer Safety Checks:

  • All teachers and volunteers undergo a background check before serving with your children.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, welcoming environment for your children!
