Who We Are
At First Baptist Starkville, our Music Ministry exists to lead God’s people in authentic, Christ-centered worship. Through the Celebration Choir, Orchestra and Band, 521 College & Young Adult Praise Team, Student Praise Team, and Handbell Choir, we use our voices and instruments to point hearts to the Lord. Whether in Sunday services, special events, or seasonal celebrations, our goal is to glorify God and invite others to join in heartfelt praise. If you love to sing, play, or serve behind the scenes, there’s a place for you to help lead the song of our church.

- Wednesdays | Celebration Choir Rehearsal at 6:00 PM in the Choir Room (off the Commons)
- Wednesdays | Handbell Choir Rehearsal at 5:00 PM in the Handbell Room
- Wednesdays | 521 Praise Team Rehearsal at 6:00 PM in The Chapel
- Wednesdays | Celebration Band & Orchestra Rehearsal at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary
- Sundays | Orchestra plays during select Worship Services in The Sanctuary
Ministry Opportunities
Celebration Choir – Where Passion Meets Worship
If you love to sing and have a heart for worship, you’ve found the perfect place to connect and serve! The Celebration Choir is more than just music—it’s a community of believers who lead worship in Sunday services and at special events like Easter, Independence Day, and Christmas.
- No auditions required—just a willing spirit and a love for lifting your voice in praise.
- Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 PM | Choir Rehearsal Room (off the Commons)
Celebration Orchestra & Band
Do you play a musical instrument and have a passion for worship? The FBC Orchestra enhances Sunday worship, supports the choir, and plays for special events throughout the year.
- Prior instrumental experience required.
- Commitment to rehearsals and performances expected.
- Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:00 PM | Sanctuary
Handbell Choir
A unique and joyful way to worship through music! The Handbell Choir performs several times a year for worship services and special events.
- Ability to read music required.
- Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:00 PM | Handbell Room
Special Performances
From dramatic seasonal productions to Nights of Worship, our special events feature inspiring music, creative staging, and the talents of volunteers in music, tech, drama, and set design. Opportunities are available year-round to get involved.
Student Praise Team (Grades 7–12)
Leads worship for Wednesday night Student Ministry. No auditions—just a heart for worship and a willingness to grow in your musical gifts.
521 Praise Team (College & Young Adults)
Leads worship for our weekly 521 Worship Service on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM in The Chapel. Rehearsal begins at 6:00 PM. Open to vocalists and instrumentalists who are passionate about leading peers in worship.

When you join our Music Ministry, you become part of a family united by a love for Jesus and a passion for leading others in worship. Rehearsals are filled with encouragement, prayer, and preparation as we pursue musical excellence and spiritual growth. Whatever your skill level, there’s a place for you to glorify God through music.
