Living Sent: Taking the Gospel to Every Corner
At First Baptist Starkville, missions isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. Jesus said,
“As the Father has sent Me, even so I am sending you.” — John 20:21
Rooted in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) and fulfilled through union with Christ, this is the heart of what it means to Live Sent. Just as Jesus was sent by the Father—full of grace and truth—we are now sent by Jesus, empowered by His Spirit and joined to His life.
Vision: Live Sent
Live Sent means following Jesus and inviting others to come along.
It’s not about adding a mission trip to your calendar—it’s about joining Jesus in His mission every day, everywhere.
Goal: Making Mature Believers
We go because Jesus is worthy of a mature bride.
We don’t just want converts—we want to see people conformed to the image of Christ.
“Him we proclaim… that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” — Colossians 1:28
Mature believers:
- Know Jesus intimately (John 17:3)
- Obey Him increasingly (John 14:15)
- Bear fruit consistently (John 15:5)
- Multiply intentionally (2 Timothy 2:2)
Our Acts 1:8 Strategy: From Your Heart to Every Heart
Living Sent begins with a heart set on Jesus. When you abide in Him, His love overflows—not just into your neighborhood, but into the nations.
Jesus said:
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
At First Baptist Starkville, we take Acts 1:8 personally. It’s not just a geography—it’s a lifestyle:
- Jerusalem – Those closest to you: your family, friends, classmates, coworkers.
- Judea – Those around you: your community, your city, your region.
- Samaria – Those different from you: across cultures, backgrounds, and barriers.
- Ends of the Earth – Those far from you: the unreached, the overlooked, the nations.
From your heart to every heart, the Gospel flows outward—by the power of the Spirit and the presence of Christ in you.

Prayer is our first and most vital act of mission. Join us in praying for our teams, our partners, and for people around the world to encounter the love of Jesus.
GIVE
Missions moves at the speed of generosity.
Through your giving—whether to the FBC Missions Fund or the World Missions Offering—you provide gospel access and tangible help where it’s most needed.
GO
We go because Jesus sends—and the Holy Spirit empowers.
